Episode's summary
What's your most favorite and least-loved songs on Lloyd Cole and the Commotions' debut classic Rattlesnakes? Jim chose this one for a full-on lovefest unifier. We've all dug Lloyd since last century, even seeing him together with Michael Penn in 1990. Mister Cole politely declined to rank his own record but you can hear him kindly chime in on our Highway 61 Revisited episode. Even better, we got Camera Obscura's Tracyanne Campbell to tell us her favorites along with Mike Remoll, the Cool Brother Hall of Famer that introduced Jim to the Commotions 40 years ago (stay tuned & listen post-credits!). Hear it at WeWillRankYouPod.com, Apple, Spotify, Youtube and on Charlotte Street. FILE UNDER/SPOILERS: Tori Amos, Are You Ready to Be Heartbroken, Athens Georgia, Camera Obscura, Tracyanne Campbell, Truman Capote, Charlotte Street, Neil Clark, Leonard Cohen, Lloyd Cole, college rock, the Commotions, Cosmopolitan, Blair Cowan, Simone de Beauvoir, Joan Didion, Lawrence Donegan, Lonnie Donegan, Down At The Mission,…

ListenedWhat're your most favorite and least-loved songs on this first collection of Bee Gees hits from 1969? RERUN: Schoolhouse Rock ranked with Aralee Dorough (2022)
ListenedAdam picked the soundtrack of his childhood for his first rerun episode. Jim wrote three sentences for his rerun episode. Dan's intro was 90 seconds. Adam's Behind The Scenes Ted Talk goes on for over three unbearable minutes but the good news is that two members of Schoolhouse Rock creator Bob Dorough's 1996 band, Paul Gutierrez and Frank Meyer, who couldn't make it when we originally recorded this episode kindly sent us their picks for favorite SHR toon! Originally released July 28, 2022 HEY! What's your most-loved and least favorite Schoolhouse Rock song!? The gang takes a look at their five favorite tunes from the iconic 1970s educational television cartoons of their youth. Adam dreamed up the idea to do our first top five episode, focusing on Multiplication, Grammar and America from the series' Golden Era, 1973-1976. Our first-ever 1970s-era show is crammed with fun facts, interjections, bootlegs and contests SHR royalty Aralee Dorough (voice on "My Hero Zero" and daughter of creator Bob Dorough) even…

RERUN: Elvis Costello & The Attractions - Blood & Chocolate ranked (2022)
ListenedRERUN: Elvis Costello & The Attractions - Blood & Chocolate ranked (2022) Hey everybody. Dan here. So it’s my turn to choose a ReRun Episode we recorded earlier and are bringing back and I chose Elvis Costello’s “Blood & Chocolate”. You may know that sometimes I go for an album that is going to be a surefire crowdpleaser with my cohosts. But most of the time, I like picking an album where I genuinely don’t know how at least one of them is going to react. It doesn’t always work out. Please see the episode where we discuss Lana Del Rey’s “Born To Die” if you want to see 90 minutes that left me scarred for life. BUT, the seemingly impossible dream for me was always to introduce an album to all my co-hosts that they didn’t know previously and have not one, not two, but ALL THREE of them fall in love with it. Now don’t get the wrong idea - that was never the goal of my picks. I’m far too obsessive to make it that simple. It’s a complicated algorithm that tries to counterprogram against my past five picks across…
